Festive Sangria

If you’re anything like me and love having guests over during the holidays you must know how overwhelming hosting events can be! One of the biggest challenges I faced was what to serve those thirsty guests when they walk through the door. The last thing you want to worry about is what cocktails to stir up while the guests pour in. Although wine is always a viable option, you may want to serve a drink that will help guests experience the holiday vibe.

I personally believe that a Sangria is the best large-format drink to serve a crowd. It encourages everyone to self-serve while relieving you of bartending duty. Furthermore, it’s very cost effective as you don’t have to buy an expensive bottle of wine or a box of wine because you’re going to mix in juice and hard liquor. So let’s just dive into the recipe that I use to make the festivities more sparkly:

2 750ml bottles Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay (I used Soverain Chardonnay!)
3/4 cup sparkling apple cider
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cranberries, halved
3/4 cup cranberries, whole
1 Granny Smith apple, chopped
3 rosemary sprigs
Garnish: rosemary sprigs

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher.
Stir together with a large wooden spoon to help the sugar dissolve.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
Serve chilled with a garnish of rosemary sprigs. Make sure to get some of the fruit in every glass!

This is great, thank you so much!Thank you!Awesome, thanks!
